Design Test: Scott Weiland

The above shows the bare minimum. I started layering the background at this point to create the combination of 'Cleveland' (which is where Mr. Weiland was born) and introducing some of the elements of the California life.
I masked the original shot and edited the image of Scott Weiland for use within this layout.

The panel at top would allow the user to purchase the album directly, or to actually preview the album via a flash player which would stream from the site.

I considered allowing the user to minimize this panel, but from the client side they would always want a means of selling an album or promoting it even further.

This is the default view of the site. Background was completed to my liking, with some elements the user can plainly see, other's you kind of have to explore.

News and Events would allow for the most recent set of upcoming appearances as well as any news updates, which would be scrollable. These would be features of the homepage, and would be much larger within their designated section.

I introduced the smoke and cigarette, as this man is an absolute chainsmoker and the slow moving smoke could be a nice subtle element to the page, as it totally captures the character and mood of Mr. Weiland.

I also envisioned the palm trees having some subtle movement to them.

This is showing an example of what would happen if the user clicked the circle with the star inside of it next to an image, OR actually clicked any part of the image.
The photo would expand the slightly rotate. You would then have the ability to sort through the various shots, without having to close the photo on top. Although you could

This last example shows if you clicked one of the album covers which lay underneath his right shoulder. It would be another quick way of viewing the album art (which a lot of fans want to see early on). This could even be done leading up to an album release, instead of fans finding what they are looking for on a site other than the actual musician.
